Just the two of us...

For the next month or so, it's just Izzy and me! Micah is gone for some training. Thankfully we are still able to talk, or at least text message, often. I was a little worried about how this month would go, being a "single" mom. God has been so good, and Izzy is being great!! For the last 2 days she has actually napped in her crib. This has been extremely helpful because it allows me to get some house work done. Normally I am able to get a lot done once Micah gets home from work and takes over Izzy-duty. :) I definitely am missing my other half!

Izzy had her 2 month well check last week. She is now 9.1 lbs and 20 inches long! She is growing too fast for her mommy's liking! Unfortunately, at a 2 month well check, 4 vaccines are given. She did really well. She did cry, but as soon as I picked her up and she found her thumb she fell right asleep. Yesss, she's going to be a thumb sucker, just like her momma!

She's holding her head up pretty well, all on her own. As you can see in the picture below, she looks like she's ready to start crawling!

Well, that's all the exciting news for now. I will leave you with a couple of pictures of our bundle of joy! (I accidentally just typed "job"..that might be a more accurate description! :))

Typhoon Kompasu

Tuesday, 31 JUL 2010, a Catagory 3 typhoon, Kompasu, hit Okinawa. Everyone expected it to be extremely bad, but thankfully all we got was some wind and rain with very little destruction.

Monday everyone was getting their "typhoon kits" together if they did not already have them because we thought it was going to hit really hard. Because we went on leave for the month of June and since we got back have been somewhat preoccupied with a 5lb bundle of job, our kit was not together. I got to battle the commissary on Monday with everyone else that did not have their kit together either...

The night before we were put on lock down and could not leave our house to go anywhere.

Here is little Miss Izzy hanging out after her bath, all comfy and cozy....

The dogs are just chillin', not too happy that they can't go outside.

Izzy's trying to find her thumb....

Bored of being stuck in the house already :)

Micah taking advantage of all the time he has to learn more about spearfishing.

So..when Ninja and Apache start rough housing, every once in a while Apache gets a little scared and tries to run away from Ninja. Usually he hides under the couch, but every so often he will hid under the pack 'n' play. This time we actually got a picture of it.

Here he is peaking his head out to see where Ninja is.

My sweet girl sleeping her life away. :)

The clouds looked pretty cool the night before the typhoon hit.

The next day we were all quite bored. Poor Izzy was subject to a photoshoot by mom!

I wanted a good picture of Micah and me both smiling. Of course, I got the many faces he makes...this is the best one...

The nasty skies on Tuesday. When I took this picture the typhoon was on top of the island.

Thank goodness for season 2 of Prison Break. I think Micah and I watched probably about 10 episodes or so...

Thankfully the typhoon was not bad at all. Like I said, we did get a lot of rain and pretty good winds come through. However, not much was destroyed. There were just some branches in the roads around our house. The worst thing I saw was the metal thing you put your shopping carts in on Camp Schwab was messed up...thankfully that was it!

Our day at Okuma...

Okuma is a "resort" north of the island. They have cabins, camping areas, and hotel rooms you can stay in. You can rent a boat to go wakeboarding on and jetskiis. They also have a couple of beaches you can relax on and catch some rays. We decided to spend last Saturday on the beach and wakeboarding and the cookout for dinner. We had a blast!
You can rent boats and have a guy drive it, so you can go waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing, etc behind it. We had some time to kill before Micah and Talon went wakeboarding, so we decided to grab some lunch.
Izzy is just chillin' with Daddy and enjoying the fresh air.
This is a view of "North Beach." It was an absolutely beautiful day!
Here is Micah wakeboarding- getting some air! Way to go, Babe!!
Izzy and I walked around on the beach while the guys went wakeboarding. Well, I walked, Izzy slept. :)
The weather turned a little gross, so we grabbed a pavilion and hung out here for our bbq. Here is Micah and me copying the Japanese pose. They hold up a peace sign for just about every picture they ever take.
We wanted to get a good family picture. Izzy was hungry and not really having this whole picture taking thing.
Micah decided to join Izzy in her state of crying.
My sweet Isabelle sporting a mohawk, compliments of Dad! :)
You could rent these bicylce things and ride around the grounds. Our friend Jessica and I ran up to the store for some last minute grilling supplies. Yes, you had to wear the dumb helmets. We are not just wearing them as a fashion statement.

The perfect end to a really fun day... s'mores! :)

Growing so fast!

We had Izzy's 2 week old well check yesterday. She sure is growing fast! She has gained a pound since leaving the hospital. She is now 11 oz over her birth weight, which the doctor was very pleased about! She has also grown an inch in length. She has long little legs, so....hopefully this means she got some of her daddy's height! She is now 5lbs 11 oz and 19 inches long.

Her little eyes are open for a good part of the day now. We are hoping this means they will soon be closed for a good part of the night!

I can't even believe she will be 3 weeks old on Saturday. Everyone says it goes fast, but I never expected this fast. Yes, I'm sure the sleep deprevation has something to do with the last couple of weeks being a blur, but time sure is going fast.

Here is our little sleeping beauty.

I forgot to introduce the world to Apache. He is a Shiba Inu. We decided to get Ninja a buddy since we knew we would not be showing his as much attention as we have in the past, and as much as he feels is deserved.

Isn't he just so cute! It is a good thing he is cute because he sure is a little terror!
Ninja wasn't too fond of him at the beginning. They have warmed up to each other though, quite a bit. They now are playing constantly. Which yes, that is why we got Ninja a friend, but not so they could play at 4 in the morning!!

The last 7 months....

Wow! It was been quite a while since we have written anything! As most of you know, a lot has happened since last Christmas. We found out in December that we were pregnant with our first baby. In April, we found out it was a little girl! Needless to say, both of us were very surprised as we had completely expected it to be a boy. We slowly got used to buying pink, and now we would not have it any other way!

Micah was gone a lot during the first part of the year for training, but was able to be home for the whole last part of the pregnancy and the delivery!! That was the more important thing to me!

Isabelle Ann Mutti decided to make her appearance exactly 4 weeks early, on 31JUL2010 at 0906. She was 5lbs 0.6oz and 18 inches long. Thankfully she is strong and healthy. Her bili level was a little bit high, but after 24 hours of phototherapy she was good to go! She is keeping us both very busy. She is just like her daddy, she could sleep all day but then wants to be up all night! We are slowly getting her on a "normal" schedule. We can't even begin to explain the amount of joy she has already brought us.

This is our first family picture!!

A good friend of ours and one of the doctors I work with was able to deliver Izzy! We were so thankful for that!

Here is Izzy waiting for Dad to get back to the hospital so we could all go home!

I promise to be better about updating this more often! I'm sure we will have tons of pictures to come of little Izzy! Thank you for all of your prayers for us as we adjust to the wonderful life of parenthood!
